Terms of Service
Last updated: September 19, 2026
Agreement
These Terms of Service govern your use of Patent-Alert. By using the service, you agree to these Terms. They are a reasonable starting template and are not legal advice; have counsel review them for your situation.
The service
Patent-Alert monitors new USPTO patent application publications using the keywords and filters you provide, then delivers information by email. The service is account-less: management links are sent by email and there is no password-based dashboard.
Eligibility and acceptable use
You must provide an email address you control and use the service lawfully. Do not abuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, or use it to send unsolicited messages.
Plans, payment, and cancellation
Free includes up to 3 monitors and a weekly digest. Pro is $25/month or $199/year unless a displayed founder offer applies. Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record and handles payment processing, applicable taxes, refunds, and billing terms. You can cancel future renewals through the billing tools or by contacting support; access and refund treatment may depend on the applicable plan and Lemon Squeezy terms.
Email and unsubscribe
We send confirmation, monitor, service, and billing-related messages needed to operate your subscription. Digest and marketing emails include a one-click unsubscribe mechanism. You can unsubscribe per monitor or globally where the link offers that scope. We follow applicable CAN-SPAM requirements.
Information, not legal advice
Patent-Alert provides information about published applications. It does not provide legal advice, patentability opinions, freedom-to-operate analysis, infringement opinions, docketing, or a substitute for a registered patent attorney or agent.
Availability and disclaimers
We aim for reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted operation, complete coverage, perfect matching, or error-free data. USPTO data and email delivery can be delayed or unavailable. The service is provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law.
Limitation and changes
To the extent permitted by law, Patent-Alert is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the service. We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
