This Privacy Policy explains how Patent-Alert Inc. ("Patent-Alert," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our email monitoring service at patent-alert.net. It is a practical summary, not legal advice.

Information we collect

Email address — used to confirm your subscription, deliver patent digests, and send magic links for managing monitors.
Monitor settings — keywords and filters you choose, such as application type, CPC class, applicant/inventor name, and publication date.
Service data — basic technical and delivery information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service (e.g. timestamps, IP-derived region for compliance, bounce/complaint signals).

How we use information

We use information to create and deliver monitors, authenticate account-less actions (magic links), process subscriptions through Lemon Squeezy (our merchant of record), respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and improve reliability. We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers

Resend helps us send transactional and digest email. Lemon Squeezy is our merchant of record and processes paid orders, taxes, billing, and refunds under its own policies. We share only what is needed for those purposes.

Choices and unsubscribe

Every marketing or digest email includes an easy unsubscribe link. You may unsubscribe from one monitor or all Patent-Alert mailings, as indicated by the link you use. Transactional messages about a requested action (e.g. confirmations, receipts) may still be sent. We honor applicable CAN-SPAM requirements.

Retention and security

We retain information while needed to provide the service and comply with legal or accounting obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no service can guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

Patent-Alert is a business tool and is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
